The Third Caux Forum for Human Security closed on Friday 16th July with a ‘call to action’ to address the urgent problems of poverty, hunger, climate change, resource depletion, war and conflict. The Honourable Clare Short, who was Secretary of State for International Development in the UK, from 1997 to 2003, and has worked tirelessly for development and poverty reduction, is the chairperson of a steering council that will mobilize a broad ‘coalition of conscience to take specific actions.

A detailed conference description for the 3rd Caux Forum for Human Security, which will take place in Caux from 9 – 16 July is now available.

The organizers of the third annual Caux Forum for Human Security are currently building a conference assistant team to support this summer's conference, which will run from 9 – 16 July 2010.

The Caux Forum for Human Security is looking for a Project Manager. The job starts no later than mid November, with a workload of 50% monthly until May 2010 and 100% in June 2010. Applications to be sent to the Caux Preparation Group (CPG) until 2 November 2009.

The Second Caux Forum for Human Security, which was opened last Friday by his Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal, of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, at the Initiatives of Change conference centre above Montreux, closed today.

The second annual Caux Forum for Human Security (CFHS), 17-22 July 2009, will again seek an honest conversation among those working for peace and human security at all levels, and in varied sectors, worldwide.

Ambassador Mohamed Sahnoun has been awarded the 2007 ‘Elizabeth Haub Prize for Environmental Diplomacy’. The award, which recognizes significant achievements in the field of environmental law and diplomacy, was conferred on May 14 at a ceremony in New York.

Mohamed Sahnoun, then President of Initiatives of Change International, was the keynote speaker on 1 October 2008 for a national ‘prayer lunch’ in the Swiss Federal Capital, Bern, presided over by the Swiss President, Pascal Couchepin.
